here is a video of my friend jon chase. he’s an artist and designer. if you look at the “other projects” section of his site, you can see that in addition to all his other work, he created art for blink-182 and +44. in fact, he spray painted the grills of my bass amps for one of the blink-182 tours. he is our friend from way back in the day and is making a name for himself in the art world. jon even created a “bob smith” canvas for me, which hangs in our studio to this day. he says he loves art but still hasn’t gone to see the murakami exhibit here in los angeles. but he still rules and here he is bringing the awesome.

Nouvel article de Mark sur son blog
Nouvel article sur le blog de Mark. Il nous parle de la production de l'album de Our Lunar Activities et se désign producteur de l'annéeavec un petit grammy awards. Voici l'article et les photo :
"Week Two of Our Lunar Activities, and Producer of the Year.
Almost halfway through the second week of recording songs with our lunar activities. we have three songs completely finished, and we’ll be finishing two more tomorrow. they have a bunch of tracks that they recorded back home in glasgow, and for the rest of the week we will be listening to those and finishing them. then chris holmes is going to mix it. we’re all really happy with the sounds and the way the songs are turning out. to me, our lunar activities reminds me a lot of bands i listened to in the early 90’s, like teenage fanclub , dinosaur jr , the stone roses , and ned’s atomic dustbin . they are very guitar-heavy rock. one song has 19 tracks of guitar alone. just when you think the song is done being recorded on, johnny (i think his real name might be derek) picks up another guitar for “just one more idea” he has. luckily all the ideas sound rad. the band is very happy to be out and about in the city of angels, and even took on a horrible case of food poisoning in good humor. here are a couple of photos from the past few days.
i am also very pleased to announced that the band presented me with this “producer of the year” award. i am truly honored. and yes, it IS a trophy made from the wrapper of a piece of gum. i hope the people who run the grammy’s see this and take notice…"
