"the first day off for the tour. everyone is very exhausted. rehearsal day, denver, kansas city, and council bluffs. lots of distance travelled, tons of equipments loaded off trucks, taken out and put together, lots of lights, sound equipment, forklifts, and road cases. then everything put back into road cases and put back onto trucks and driven to the next city. everyone on the tour has been having a great time and working very hard. it’s a big tour. i think there are a dozen semi trucks and just as many busses. now we are in moline. home of john deere tractors.

last night victoria from cobra starship came onstage and sang carol’s part on “make you smile.” that was cool. we talked to her the night before and asked if she would be down to sing, and she said absolutely. so we rehearsed the song in the dressing room on acoustic guitars and travis’s practice pad. we don’t get soundchecks on the tour, so we just walked onstage and played it.

what can i tell you about tour? there is a lot of sitting around. we have been putting together the new podcast, which should be up in the next couple of days. we all eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for most of our meals. the coffee machine i bought a few days ago rules. everyone rides their skateboards and bicycles back and forth through the venue all day. the show in kansas city was outside, and the insects were attracted to the lights onstage, so we played our set surrounded by moths and flying beetles. today i am going to sing backup vocals for a song on the something for rockets album that is nearly done being mixed.
